April is a time when we think about Earth Day.  Join us to learn about the VSB’s Sustainability Plan, with a special focus on school gardens—tips to build or expand them, and available resources and support: View the current plan

School gardens are an important part of this plan and a valuable learning tool across many schools. We invite all parents, guardians, VSB staff, and school administrators to join us for an evening discussion focused on the VSB’s Sustainability Plan and the role of school gardens in supporting environmental education.

Guest Speakers:

1. Jana Ronne:  VSB Math and Science Teacher

Jana brings extensive experience with school gardens and will share practical advice for starting or revitalizing a school garden. She’ll walk us through the VSB framework, stakeholders involved, budgeting, design, tool storage, watering, and composting.   Read her story: Pollinator Garden Reflections

2. Megan Viszlai: Vancouver Coastal Regional Coordinator, BC Farm to School

Megan will introduce the support BC Farm to School provides to help school communities build and sustain their gardens.
