About Us

Vancouver DPAC represents the collective voice of parents and caregivers in Vancouver public schools. We are dedicated to supporting parent engagement, fostering communication between families and the Vancouver School Board (VSB), and advocating for equitable education opportunities for all students.

  • Advocacy – We amplify parent and caregiver voices on education policies for the benefit of students and school communities
  • Representation – We represent collective views at the district level
  • Support – We provide resources, training and guidance to Parent Advisory Councils
  • Events and Workshops – We host guest speakers, forums, and informational sessions

Vancouver DPAC is led by parent and caregiver volunteers elected by Parent Advisory Councils (PACs) across the district. The Executive Committee (current list here) —made up of up to 12 elected members and 4 officers—oversees DPAC’s work. These volunteers guide advocacy efforts, support PACs, and help set priorities based on feedback from school communities.
Our work follows VSB policies, provincial law, and DPAC’s own Bylaws and Policies.

All parents and caregivers are welcome at DPAC meetings. Each PAC has one vote, usually cast by their DPAC Representative or Chair.

PACs may also nominate members to serve as DPAC Executives.

We are required to comply with the Vancouver School Board’s guiding principles and government legislation. Here’s a list of important documents all PAC members should be aware of:
